A day built from what you want to learn.
First Proof brings together printmakers and book artists for a day of shared knowledge and hands-on learning. You share what you want to learn, and the people who know it show you how. Expect ink on your hands, a long-table lunch, a print exchange, and a room full of people who get it.
The board is where the day takes shape, and it's free and open to anyone with an email address, any time. You don't need to register to add a note, a sticker, or a comment, just an email address.
Why a first proof.
A first proof is the first sheet off the press. It's never right, and that's how you learn. Nobody here is an expert at everything, and nobody has to be. No stage, no speakers. The room decides the day, and the people who know a thing show the people who want to learn it.
Come learn with us on April 17.
Don't miss a thing.
Registration for 2027 is open, and the $30 early-bird price runs through December 31. We send a few emails a year: dates, what's new on the board, and reminders.
